The Rise of the Iranian Moderates
With Rouhani’s victory, politics of Iran will shift toward the center and reduce 16 years of factionalism in the administration. Rouhani — a moderate centrist — believes the government cannot be ruled by one faction, neither Reformist nor Principalist. Instead, he advocates for the full utilization of the best and most capable public servants from both factions. Following his victory, Rouhani stated, “This victory is a victory of wisdom, a victory of moderation, a victory of growth and awareness and a victory of commitment over extremism and ill-temper.” Addressing factionalism plaguing the country, he added, “I warmly shake the hands of all moderates, Reformists and Principalists [Conservatives].”

ظهور اعتدال گرایان در ایران
از زمان انقلاب ۱۳۵۷ و بخصوص در ۱۶ سال اخیر، “جناح گرایی” یکی از خصوصیات فضای سیاسی داخلی ایران بوده است. این پدیده بعد از پیروزی جناح چپ انقلاب تحت عنوان جدید «اصلاح طلبان» در انتخابات ریاست جمهوری سال ۱۳۷۶ شدت گرفت. در طول هشت سال ریاست جمهوری سید محمد خاتمی از ۱۳۷۶ تا ۱۳۸۴، جناح راست انقلاب تحت عنوان جدید «اصولگرایان» یا در اصطلاح غرب «محافظه کاران»، به شدت منزوی شد ند. سید محمد خاتمی با اینکه با این جناح گرایی موافق نبود، نمی توانست جلوی موج تغییرات توسط دولت متشکل از اصلاح طلبان را بگیرد. همین مسئله باعث انزوا و دلخوری اصولگرایان از تجربه حکومت اصلاح طلبان شد.

چالش های اصلی رئیس جمهور آینده ایران
اقتصاد و سیاست خارجی مهمترین موضوعات برای اکثریت رای دهندگان ایرانی در انتخابات پیش روی ریاست جمهوری است. بطور معمول وقتی از معضلات اقتصادیِ امروز سخن گفته می شود موضوعات تورم، بیکاری، و کاهش ارزش پول ملی در مرکز مباحثات قرار دارند.

Opinion: It is time for security cooperation between the Gulf States and Iran
During his spring 2005 trip to all GCC countries, Rouhani met with the heads of GCC states separately and stressed Iran’s readiness to establish a regional cooperation system between Iran, Iraq, and the GCC. Rouhani told the GCC leaders that Iran places no limit on the level and quality of a comprehensive cooperation for peace, security, and stability in the region. Moreover, Rouhani stressed Iran’s readiness to remove all concerns the GCC might have about their large neighbor.

اولویت سیاست خارجی ایران: ترمیم روابط با کشورهای همسایه
در بهار سال 2007، آقای روحانی در کنفرانسی در شهر دوحه پیشنهادی کامل و جامع را برای تبیین نظام همکاری منطقه ای بین ایران و کشورهای شورای همکاری ارائه داد.
رهبران شش کشور عضو شورای همکاری خلیج (جی سی سی) پیروزی حسن روحانی را درانتخابات ریاست جمهوری تبریک گفته و خواستار بهبود روابط دو جانبه خود با ایران شده اند.
